5 Reasons to Airbnb a Tiny House

My best friend, Richard Brown, made a decision to live more simply and built himself a tiny house.  He literally built the house with his own two hands, and I have to say, it is pretty amazing!  Have you ever thought to Airbnb a tiny house for your next vacation?  I mean, why not?  Here are five reasons why you should…

Tiny House

With the whole tiny house movement, Richard decided to seize the opportunity and create a business. Thus, the company Michigan Tiny House (http://Michigantinyhouse.com) was born.  Michigan Tiny House creates tiny homes that are tailored to your taste at an affordable price.  The company has been featured in publications like Detroit News, Hour Detroit Magazine as well as TV shows such as M Live, NPR, 2 different Fox affiliates, and Local 4 NBC.

To capitalize even more on business, Richard uses Airbnb to “rent” out one of his tiny homes to either future buyers or people just passing through on vacation (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/8188560?s=zgV6dI4M).  Although staying in a tiny home can have its disadvantages, especially if you are exceptionally tall, renting one of these local “charms” gives you all the amenities of a hotel, but way more budget friendly.  Here are 5 REASONS why you should book a tiny house for your next vacation:

1. It’s All About the (Airbnb) Story

How many people can say that they have stayed in a tiny house? Not many!  Why not add a little spice to your vacation (and your stories) and stay in one?  Your friends will think you are the adventurous type, and you will be the hit of the next party.  Like I always say, “It’s all about the story!”

2. You Can “Test Drive” Before You Buy

If you are interested in the tiny house experience and are thinking of buying one, you can “test drive” a stay before you purchase.  I personally think this is a GREAT idea!  Trust me, if I could have “test drove” my first house, I never would have purchased it.

3. It’s Budget Friendly

Prices to stay in a tiny house on Airbnb vary by location, but 9 times out of 10, it is cheaper than a hotel. Plus, you get to make your own food which saves you money on eating out.  If you are looking for a budget way to travel, look no further.

4. You are Not Too Far Off the Beaten Path

Location is the key when going on vacation, and a tiny house can provide just that!  Most homes are located in a nice quiet location with out being too remote.  It gives you a chance to unwind with out honking horns and smog, but close enough to a city so you don’t get too bored.  Another bonus?  Indoor plumbing!!

5. They are World Wide

A quick search on Google and I found tiny homes in the United States, Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa.  Needless to say, these tiny homes are found in an array of cities and countries that appeal to any type of traveler.
